About Grey Fabric
It is the raw material of the entire processing chain, and it is traded on construction rather than appearance: yarn count, reed and pick, width and weave. The natural colour comes from the yarn and any sizing still present, not from dye — greige is not a shade.
Because processing changes both dimensions and weight, experienced buyers specify what they need post-finish and work backwards. Shrinkage of a few per cent is normal, and it is worth agreeing tolerances up front rather than arguing about them after delivery.
