Soft-drape cellulosics

Viscose & Rayon Suppliers in India

Viscose — also sold as rayon — is a regenerated cellulose fibre valued for its fluid drape and silk-like hand.

About Viscose & Rayon

It dyes to deep, bright shades and is widely used for dress material, sarees, linings and blended shirting. The trade-off is strength: viscose loses a significant share of it when wet, so handling and finishing need care, and shrinkage is higher than cotton.

Modal is a higher-wet-strength variant of viscose with better dimensional stability, which is why it commands a premium in knitwear and innerwear.

Viscose & Rayon — buyer FAQs

Is viscose the same as rayon?

Effectively yes — viscose is the most common type of rayon, and in the Indian trade the terms are used interchangeably.

Does viscose shrink?

More than cotton, and it weakens when wet. Pre-shrinking and careful finishing matter, and shrinkage tolerances should be agreed before ordering.
